Robert Best born, June 23, 1969 in Utah USA, studied fashion design at "Parsons, The New School for Fashion Design" in NY. He was awarded "student designer of the year" upon graduating.
One of his instructors Best quoted as saying "that my sketches looked like Barbie" said Best "So maybe it was prophetic."
Best appeared on Project Runway in 2006, solidifying himself as a pop culture icon. His career spans from designing for brands like Donna Karan and Isaac Mizrahi. Two of his crowning achievements were;
1. In 2000 Best created the prestigious "Barbie Fashion Model Collection" The collection celebrated the fashion of the 1950's and 60's, inspired by his love of black & white films as well as classic couturiers like Balenciaga & Dior.
2. In 2010 the "Barbie Fashion Model Collection" book was published celebrating 10 years of his collection that can truly be called the Best of Barbie."
