Corsets have been timeless additions to fashion, spanning across decades, even centuries. They have been worn by high society and every day women. I have always been very fond of corsets (the see my blog post). The construction of these pieces has always both fascinated and intimidated me. Once I built up the courage and skills to create these designs I knew I wanted to share it with other aspiring makers. The corset instructions attached were used in the construction of my corset a pattern available, on Etsy and on my website. This is easy to follow tutorial will have you creating corsets in no time!
I've use this pattern to create these beautiful custom designs
Let's make a corset!
Printing Instructions, fabric suggestions and materials are available with the complete pattern download.
Measurements are key to any design, it also helps with how much fabric you'll need. Below you'll find the directions on how to take proper measurements and what size to cut. Always use your largest measurement to lock in a size.

Step1
Once you've cut the pattern pieces, its best that you create a sample mock up. All of our bodies are unique and the measurements you'll use will be a general guide. The sample will allow you to make adjustments, without wasting fabric.

Step2
The cup pattern has a satin cup (you'll use this for the main fabric), there's also a foam cup pattern (where you will cut the bra foam from). You'll create binding strips, satin for the cups. Now sew together the satin/ main cup bottom. Add the binding down the center. Do the same for the top.
Step3
Combine the foam and main cups together. When pressing the cup used a curved object like a tailors ham.
