As the business continues to grow, & only in my second year, I was not yet overwhelmed with tons of prom dresses orders. I had the privilege of creating a custom gown for my gorgeous client Franciena she graduated from high school and wanted her moment captured in glam and grace (my specialty).
I just wanted to take moment to share photos of the processes that are involved with creating these one of a kind garments.
This is the first step in construction, after measurements are taken I use a special fabric to create a draft of the garment great for marking up the deigns adding or subtracting material as well as creating the ideal silhouette, Fabrics for special occasions are often very expensive and this helps with to reduce waisting those pricey silks and chiffon.
Once all the kinks are worked out I use the muslin as a pattern to cut in the actual fabric here I used a blue peach-skin charmeuse and chiffon (for the sheer upper area) everything sewn together and we begin to see the dress coming to life. Another few fittings and the shape and silhouette are further smoothed out.
For this design she wanted crystals to cascade across the waist and train area to create this starry night effect, each stone was place by hand one by one in the garment to create this dazzling effect.

Smoothing out The Details
So the dress has come together quite nicely and now it was down to pressing and cutting any stray threads preparing the dress for pick up. I cant wait until she sees it all
Each garment no matter how extravagant or simple is packaged with my label, in a white box or garment bag, as well as personalized care instructions, neatly wrapped with a gold bow!
